Unibody Flatpacks (FP) have a single solid piece base (stamped), rectangular or square packages with leads parallel to base plane attached on two opposing sides of the package periphery. Wide range of standard solutions is available with the ability to infinitely customize each design to Customer specifications. Unibody Flatpacks are widely used for Integrated Circuits (IC) in many industrial applications. The standard products portfolio contains more than 100 different types.
Two piece Flatpacks are the same by dimensions as unibody flatpacks. The key difference is in two piece body where package Base and Frame are brazed together. This allows to use different materials for base and frame when required - for example, to combine Kovar frame with CuW base for better thermal conductivity. The two piece construction solution has also sharper radius on the corners both on the top where the cover goes, and also on the inside bottom.
